Anyone running "Megan" coilover on their M4/M3's??
Has anyone here used this new coilover set!?? Amazing price and advertised to pretty much do 99% what its higher dollar brand name competitors will at less than half the price. (The same retailer sells all the other brands too)

I've been in plenty of cars running these coilovers.
Sti, evos, e92s, 370z/g37s They range from very stiff and harsh, to unbearably stiff and harsh. Handling has a range of terrible, to dangerously bouncy to undriveable |

I think it's prudent not to purchase suspension components based on price. |

I had their coilovers on my '08 IS350 and I LOVED them. But that was for a simple Japanese car with very simple suspension geometry and technology lol; basically a leather toyota. For the M cars I probably wouldn't do it.

Wow... ok. lol. I figured they'd perform better than any spring-only on stock shock set but from how hard you guys are bashing them apparently not!

You can do the HAS kit for much less... Great set up for a DD. If you're looking for coils and not just adjustable height, then BC Racing (BR) coils.
Shoot me a PM for more info on either option

I can vouch for the BC Racing coilovers. Put them on my 2015 Mustang GT and they rode EXCELLENT.

If the shock bodies don't break, the seals will blow. BC manufactures a majority of the private label coils. They lack the strut travel and spring rates that the higher end kits offer (KW, Ohlin, OEM) which is why they're so stiff/bouncy.

The e39 M5 I bought used had BC's on it.. I spent money on upgrading the springs to swift, attempted to "tune" it with the adjusters. Finally ended up going with dinan springs and koni's after fighting with it for awhile...
I have nothing but good things to say about Ground Control and TCKline setups... I had the GC track school kit on my E36 and it was amazing! i would check out the TCKline kit for the f80 if going fast on a track with a budget is what you are after... for super low idk Last edited by M3SSY; 07-28-2015 at 03:19 PM.. |
