F44 Wireless Charger Mod (Large phone fitment)

I have a 2021 2-series M235i with wireless charger. However my Samsung S21 Utra would not fit and the charging was unreliable. Here are are a few images of the teardown

F44 Large Phone fitment issue in wireless charger

Here is the Samsung S21 fitment. The phone does not fit dur to interlocks intended to allow removable cover. An unfortunate oversight I did not notice during test-driving the car

F44 Wireless charger teardown (2021)

To Remove the Wireless Charger. Pull on the tabs... Hard. I had to use a rag and vice grips. Be careful not to damage tabs if you intend to keep these. The top section of tab would be a bit stronger

F44 Wireless charger Mod

The solution I decided to go with is not ideal. The parts restricting phone fitment are in the same plastic mold.

So I cut it off and plan to add some rubber to ends and cover the hole

I just got a 2022 M235 and I am in USA. Somehow I do not see wireless charging in the sticker and I try to put my phone there but it's not charging at all. Does that mean 2022 does not have wireless charging anymore? I don't see an option in the official website.

Just come across this post and so glad I found it, I haven't seen anywhere else posting about this specific charger, and especially no pictures of removed or worked on so thanks 😁 this is what I need to do for my s22 ultra. Think I'll go out now and give this a go 👍🏻
