Definitely takes an agressive look to pull off the CF hood. I dunno if an E90 could pull it off, without a full body kit. Maybe Vorsteiner will come out with E90 parts, probably have to wait till the E90 M3 comes out for them to make them though.

i used to be a fan of cf hoods, but it's fading away. now i prefer the clean look of painted hoods more.

also there's different types of carbon fiber hoods, ones that are full cf and ones that are cf on top of fiberglass. the second type mentioned will gain you no real weight savings and is the cheaper of the bunch.

i'm interesting in a group buy actually.. i want a price quote! and a carbon fiber trunk... I've been waiting for someone to make one.
Here are my plans by the way (my car is alpine white): No bodykit, Carbon fiber hood & trunk, air ride, front wind splitter, a new rear bumper for the eisenhaus quad exhaust, and CSL rims. |

My only concern about a CF hood would be safety. Is the hood considered a part of the energy absorbing crumple zone? Btw, I got your Disneyland tickets! Last edited by ksfrogman; 08-07-2006 at 06:58 PM.. |
