Is it possible to install illuminated door handles?
My local dealer doesn't include illuminated door handles in the package.
Where can I get them and is it possible to get them installed? Do I need some kind of harness or the car already has it? Thanks |

He doesn't have an US spec car. US cars have alot of things standard the rest of the world doesn't have (sunroof, sharkfin antenna, ect..) I am not sure, but I think he is saying he doesn't have the LED door handle lights! (which is news to me)
Notice in his profile, bankok, and he drives a 320i, a car that is not in the states. I am pretty sure a 320i is a 4 cycl. |

Oneshare 325, you are right......I'm driving 320i 4 cylinders.....
BMW Thailand doesn't include Led door handle illuminations in any local assembled car except the one imported,330i. Even 330i, we have one with iDrive and one w/o it and both models don't have sunroof....... I went to www.realoem.com to check the part number but I don't really know if they can install them in my car..... |

Yea....that is what I thought....I havn't heard of anyone else doing it....but do you have a plug or a cap in the place where they would be?
Min. amount of work, plug and play, remove door panels. Max. amount of work, cut up your handles to place piece, run cables (power and what not), mess around with computer, add fuses. I'll look around for you and see if I can dig anything up, I'll check out realoem too. P.s the 320i is still one of the best cars on the road! I had a friend in high school with a 318ti, and we had more fun with that car than anything i had driven before!! |

Looks pretty plug and play! AS LONG AS YOU HAVE PLUG OR CAPS, where they are supposed to be, you are going to have to take off your door panels, but dosn't look too hard!

Your dealer was right....it is not an option in the states! Not taking away from the other e90's in the world (because they are all great cars, (i think the 320si is wicked sweet just so everyone knows) but the 325i and 330i are their best and brightest, they know people in the states people love big engines and lots of cool little toys! So they put ALOT more stuff as standard! |

hi. one question. why do you want illuminated door handles?
too flash, invites unnecessary attention from the car vandals. your hartge steering wheel on the other hand, is a great investment and a pleasure to use. |

Hi climkt,
I think illuminated door handles is very nice and useful. It doesn't cost much as well. You still remember my Hartge Steering wheel!!!!! I got it installed already but now my car is waiting for the CF trims. Everything will be done on next Monday.......I will post pix when it's done |
