I think daewoo lanos and our E90 is similar in looks(tail light wise).

I like the view from the front head on.... The side view I am not a fan of. I don't like the huge mirrors and....... You know what kinda bugs me, look at the height of the doors on the side views, they look very high before you get tio the windows and it gives them a boxy look. They need to reduce the height of the roof and take down the height of the doors, to much metal going on there. It does not flow with the over all lines of the car.

The car is obviously a fine machine, but it is not a bimmer.

In the end I presume it's just preference of the car. I mean I know that the majority of lexus IS owners purchase the IS250 AWD and it is consideribly less than the new E90. I'll admit Lexus puts up a good packages with an unbeatable price range in most of their models. BMW sucks the blood our of your pocketbook with all of the various features and accessories you must purchase. I was considering the IS, but back in July I needed a car at that point and time so I opted for the E90.

PS - LMaung if you are happy with your IS then im happy for you. To each his own. :rocks:

I was going to wait for 335i but it would be too long for me to wait and I needed a new car right away. Besides, I have been a big fan of toyota/lexus, and BMWs are for rich folks. I am just not there yet

BMW for rich folks??? When I was shopping for this car I test drove the IS350 and when optioned out the same as the bimmer is was just as much $$ if not slightly more. The IS was super quick and a nice machine, I just like the tightness and the pure handeling of the 330i.

For a Lexus to look like a Scion would not be unusual. After all, they are made by the same parent company--Toyota.

However, I did also notice how the Hyundai looks a little like the Lexus IS. Actually, I don't feel the IS looks terribly bad, but what I have a problem with for my own styling tastes is the lack of distinction. The IS just seems a little too much like a lot of other small cars (most of which are economy/family cars) on the market with a slightly aggressive edge. One walk around the BMW, and you would know it's Make even without the Roundels.

Lexus is a Lexus and BMW is a BMW. I prefer the BMW, but I think Lexus have done a wonderful job on their IS, as people have started comparing it to a BMW.

10 years back, nobody would have imagined a Lexus to be compared to a BMW.

yeah, there's no need for a gazillion threads on how the IS sucks interior-wise, exterior-wise, anything-wise in comparison to the 3-series, it's the same old song and dance, and the routine is getting very tired

People get way too emotional when it comes to what they have and what the competition is perceived to be. However there is absolutely nothing wrong with expressing ones likes and dislikes. We are sharing our subjective opinions for discussion. After all, given the choices, most of us decided to get the e90. But I agree that one does not have to hate the IS to justify the e90 preference. Hatred or stepping on others to elevate oneself is a sign of insecurity.

No. most of the people bashing on IS are just haters.
Its not about expressing likes and dislikes. It gets so bad that we look so damn insecure. maybe we are.

i didnt like the ASS of the IS. it does look like a hyundai. i'd take the e90 ass over the IS anyday.

You're right...I am an IS350 hater...I'll be the first to admit it . I hate the way it looks--that's it. Just my personal opinion. I have nothing against Lexus or any other car company (except maybe cars under GM ) and there's nothing wrong with Lexus.

I just think Lexus took way too much of a dramatic styling change from the old IS and because of that, I'm not a fan. I LOVED the IS300. I would have taken that over the E46 in a heartbeat, but look at BMW. You can see a gentle flow of syling changes between generations. But look at the IS--it's a completely different car.

If Lexus would have dropped the IS name, I think they would have had a better chance at making a sale with die-hards like me because I was really expecting and hoping for an improved-on IS300, but what we got is a brand new car, and they shouldn't have called it an IS.

I don't know. Maybe the reason I don't like it is because I was expecting the IS to look similar to the old IS with less dramatic changes. But it isn't fair for you guys to assume I'm being a jerk because I think BMW is better and I'm just bashing your opinion because I've got an opinion and I don't care what yours is, because that's not what I'm saying at all. Lexus had a fair chance to compete for my business, and in this case they failed. I don't like the way it looks and that's that.

First of all, new IS doesn't look anything like the Hyndai Sonata(Accord Wanna be)...man you need set of glasses or something!?
Second of all, No matter how it looks like the Mazda 6 or Scion tC(You know its from Toyota), it will still spank your ass on straight line.

I love e90, but I just hate people talk $hit about their competitors. Because of those competitors, current e90 could have been better. And you saying New IS is Crap? You mean 303 HP V6, State of Art Navigation, Keyless Entry/Start is all Crap?? When I frist saw the New IS350, I thought it looked sick! more than 300 horses, all that electronic gadgets?? Man imagine how next 3 series is going to be like. I know it's hard to say New IS is better than New e90, but please! It is still a decent car.
