Bigger tires?

Hey everyone. I plan on picking up new tires and Im currently rocking the 19 inch wheels on my beamer and I was wondering if 235/35 was the biggest I can go without any problems? Anyone tried it yet?

Consult one of the guys at Tire Rack...they will be able to advise which tire size is the upper limit on your specific model car with 19" wheels.

Self evident in BMW offering tire/wheel replacement policy as optional coverage.
Streets and highways are not kept up to the same standards as racing courses! One person posted that BMW policy had replaced more than one, so then they offered him a full set of 17" wheels and tires.

It’s pretty nice the only issue I have with it is road noise but it could be because the current set of tires are pretty worn out. I was thinking of trying 235/40 but I don’t know if it may cause any rubbing or other issues

Look in your owner manual, under tire pressures...it show either
  • 235-35x19, or
  • 205-40x19
...tire inflation pressures. So if you go to a higher profile (from -35 to -40) they show the tread width getting smaller so as not to rub on the inner surfaces of the wheel well. As @nikkorM experience demonstrates there is a bit of wiggle room for larger tires in a single dimension. But higher profile loses contact width, so a traction loss in both cornering and braking.
Have you tried talking to someone at Tire Rack to see what their database shows for max size supported without issue?!
