Tax Return = Upgrades!

I am willing to fork over $1500 of my tax return to the 335xi. My only upgrade to date is cobb stage 1. I autocross monthly and enjoy spirited driving as much as everyone else on this forum, but don't drag race. I am torn between two potential upgrades.

1. DP + FMIC = stage2+ on the cobb and more POWER! I still have full warranty coverage until the end of this summer and would dread replacing the OEM FMIC and DP if anything should happen.

2. 17x8.5 APEX ARC-8 with RS3 rubber to run a 245 square setup. This should make the car less prone to understeer and reduce 36 lbs of unsprung weight.

Please help guide my cash.

Interesting, it's your own money where you had too much withheld, why would it be spent like a bonus? imho the smart money adjusts the withholding for next year, and takes the entire refund and pays down the principal on the mortgage.

Business expenses, travel, investment properties... It's easier to just get my big bonus back from uncle Sam even though I do have deductions as well.at 3% interest rate I am in no hurry to pay down extra principal at this time, other investments are important :-)

Cha Ching!!

That has worked very well for me. By the time I'm 55, goodbye mortgage payments. (I'll be 45 next month)

Even better- pay down those high-interest credit cards!
Ka-Ching! X2!
OP IS asking about mods, let's respect that request and get back on topic folks.

In that case. I would go with option 1 if it were my decision to make.

The real smart money doesn't have a mortgage. Besides, when did this become the Financial Management Forum? Back on topic: start buying all the M3 suspension bits, that's the best bet for an autocrosser.

btw, you realize the more mods you do .. your class changes for auto-x .. so I'd concentrate on tires / suspension / brakes etc!

Some of you crack me the f up! Op states about his excitement and everyone all the sudden are accountants or financial advisors. My income changes every month and it hard to tell what year from year, I still get some money back from uncle Sam and sometimes I owe... Some people like to get a big bonus at the end and some people like to see extra money in their pay checks.

To all the accountants:
My W4 was adjusted several weeks ago, and I'll get no money back next year. No point in paying off my mortgage early because i'll be moving to a new house in a year. I have no debt except for a 0% interest student loan and my mortgage. I max out my 401K and Roth IRA. Let's just assume i have been saving $1500 all last year for upgrades and these are my two options.

To all the bimmer fans who prefer to discuss performance upgrades over financial management in a BMW forum:
Thank you, and keep the opinions coming! I'm leaning towards the lighter shoes.

I think its the opposite. He makes more money now so he pays more taxes. Correct me if I'm wrong.

When it became a BMW forum?

To OP, handling as others have said. If you track handling will provide the best return
