Tire advice please
2012 128 15000 miles
Dealer says rears are down to 4 mm and will need rears soon, says plenty of tread left on front(oh sport package so cannot rotate) so they're only trying to sell me two rears at $700. Tires still not down to wear bars though. Is it safe to wait til down to wear bars? Should I go ahead and replace ?

Get 4 brand new non runflats for all 4 wheels and enjoy the comfortable ride, better tire wear, and better traction, all for equal or less than $700

I replaced my 128i sport package tires (all 4) at 20K with Michelin Pilot A/S (non-RFT) and found the ride much better. These 4 tires are about $750, but there are plenty of other tires out there.
You can check the threads for people that change from RFT to non-RFT for some more opinions, but if it were me, I would take the opportunity to get rid of the RFTs and replace all 4 with only 4mm tread left on your RFTs. |

700 ick....yeah you'll get the stock rfts for that at a dealer....I'd prefer more sticky summer tires...and if you get a flat tire, yeah you dont have a spare, but lol....tow service is there for a reason

I would think about replacing or plan to take it very easy in wet conditions.

Ok non run flats it is ( besides , rode motorcycles for forty years , no spare on a bike). Any recommendations for a good year round tire ?. Mild climate here, maybe 2-3 snow ice dates a year.

Bimmerpost pledges it's allegiance to the PSS tire of the Michelin brand. And to the compound, for which one streets, 4 tires under the Michelin Man, indivisible, and with quality and performance, at a price for all. Last edited by Dafttt; 06-09-2013 at 04:15 PM.. |
