eerr i dont think its gonna make a huge difference on an average c-class versions...if its on a supercar or a c 63 amg then yeah sure....other than that, i think its just pure marketing...

Why do we need spoilers, although it adds little performance to the car? Does bmw maek it as part of their marketing strategy?

The main idea is mercedes attention to minor details. These minor details adds up to creating an excellent car

BMW creates aerodynamic tails too. Not as sophisticated as the MB's, but look at the 6er design. If you have ever seen the video clip talking about the creation of the 6 series, you will notice that they had to purposefully sculpt it the way it is now to further improve aerodynamics, and cut down on wind noise...

Isn't that what older Hondas had? Holes in the taillights to move air around?
