Quick question about top view camera
I'm about to finalize my order for a 17 M3. i'm debating on the top view cameras. i currently have them on my 435i and they dont show the front; only the sides and the back. i find that very stupid since the most important part is that low hanging M front bumper! however, i was in my brothers 16 X5 and it now shows the entire car, is the M3 the same? if it doesnt show the front i'll skip it, thanks!

thanks, what a stupid omission by bmw. The M sport bumper is the most prone to getting curbed. i'll skip that option thanks

The bumper side cam have yellow guide lines to show you where the front ends. Helps in similar cases but it is slightly annoying to switch every time while parking quickly.

ya i just park backwards 99% of the time to avoid hitting my front bumper. sometimes you cant and seeing where your front bumper is in relation to the concrete parking thingie would be useful. no big deal

There is no camera on the front bumper or grill, so no forward view. But as other said, you can use the side camera's yellow lines to judge the distance to the curb. I've learned the other trick: line up the curb with the bottom edge of your side view mirror - that is where you should stop. When in doubt, I pull up the side camera. It does take a certain getting use to, but no biggy.

I would get the camera package- its nice to have and one of the least expensive upgrades. Exec. Package is a must. Also, if you're concerned about curbing your front lip... make sure you dont try to inch as close as possible, and knowingly leave a ton of room - the 2018's don't offer much in changes... the OLED Taillights are oookay, and the headlamps are ugly IMHO.

options). I have two buttons, one with a camera icon on it which toggles the side view (front) mirrors on and off, and the other with a park distance sensor icon on it which toggles the top view cameras on and off.

You can't toggle to the "RIGHT" in the camera functions, its only to the left, so what you see in the options is what you get. |

just finalized my order last night. took the cameras off. definitely did not get as good as a deal as i've been used to. only got $2K off of MSRP, but they are using base MF. and since this is a lease pull ahead they had to agree to buy my car, which according to them is a tough car to sell since it's a 6spd. here's to hoping that the numbers are better in march! maybe they'll bring back the loyalty?

Numbers arent too far off from a great deal. All that matters is the feeling of walking away like you were the victor of the deal, and in the end you will be the one behind the wheel of an M3 CONGRATS!! When I first test drove the M4 about a month ago, my heart was in my chest, like the first time I jumped out of an airplane. After that, it was playing a game of "lets make a deal" and Im now in my very own M4!
