Not too surprising. 503 hp/447 lb ft, AWD, automatic.
Anyway the CS (and the M2 and M2C) are are about anything BUT 0-60 times IMO.

Then again, 0-60 don't mean much, which is why we own an X4MC and an M2C.

On the two that I drove, if you floor it off the line it hesitates for a bit as if the transmission or something else is figuring out what to do. Didn't happen in the M4 I drove right after.

I was talking about the X3M/X4M, sorry for the confusion. Was a question for Thescout13 as he posted about it right above. It's not 8AT specific either, because the M5 does not do it.

They run 3.3 0-60 and 11.6 1/4 mile stock and they weight 4600 lbs. They're not slow by any means. S58 is vastly superior to S55 even ignoring the whole crank hub ticking time bomb issue with S55.

Any chance you can point to a detailed comparison of the S55 vs S58? I'm interested in this and how each develops power. There's a consistent argument that the S58 is vastly superior to the S55, but I haven't been able to uncover why.

S55 https://f80.bimmerpost.com/forums/at...6475520#page29 S58 https://www.bimmerpost.com/goodiesfo...ine.pdf#page29 S58 has forged internals and two HPFPs along with additional cooling. Crank hub issue has been resolved too |

Ive read these before, which led me to believe the S58 uses a lower compression ratio to take advantage of higher boost pressure without detonation to make more power in stock form. Usually this comes with some out of boost lag, but the comp ratio is still not what I would consider low. This seems to have come with an improvement in efficiency. Does the S58 head flow more than S55? I can see why it's viewed as superior.

EDIT: Sources are all over the map, some saying forged rods, some saying forged pistons, some saying both on the S55. The consistent information though is the internals handle plenty of power, so it's a moot issue from that standpoint as unless you are trying for 800+hp it's a non-factor in operation.
