M235 transmission shake

2022 M235i 8AT 15,500km (9,650 miles)

When the transmission is clicked to the left, into DS mode, the car tends to get a weird vibration throughout. Hard to explain. When it is clicked back to regular D mode, the vibration goes away.

Is this normal for the M235?

I only owned it since 11,000km, and rarely use DS mode, so not sure if it’s been this way since new.

Probably because it change into a sport mode(S1). Does it have similar vibration when you press the sport button. - like the car is ready to engage feeling?

Actually, yes it is similar. I guess I just never noticed it and made the correlation.

My JCW Mini has the same engine . Yes absolutely when I put into Sport there is an obvious vibration that at 26K miles is part of the charm.
Not saying yours in entirely normal but my guess is that it is what makes going into sport such fun. It really changes the character.
