Australia finally getting the 228i
Just asking if anyone has ordered a 228i in Aust as yet. I hear there will be stock floating around from around August. I've been given rough pricing which sounds in line with E82 125i pricing but not a lot of details around what the standard inclusions are compared to a 220i. Any info appreciated.

I'm pretty sure, everything is exactly the same with only the slight tune in the N20 engine.
Shame they had to deliver it late to Australia but the cars pricing here is just absurd.. Settled with the 220i and works legally well with the p-plate restrictions anyway . |

Standard features are going to suck. I reckon by the time you option up a 228i, it will almost be same retail price as M235i.

From what I understood at the dealer, options will vary in price between the 220 and 228 though since part of the options packs will already be included. For example, M-Sport pack comes with leather seats BUT since the 228 comes with leather the M-Sport pack will be cheaper when put on the 228 than on the 220. Similarly, the lighting package will cost less due to the xenons being standard on the 228 and so on...
So if you option it up it may be close to the 235 price but that wouldnt be an optioned up 235. Love the symmetry of the exhaust pipes on the 235 over the 228... but not ballin enough to upgrade for that reason. Either car would be way faster than my mx-5. |
