Take delivery off my 335Dx in five weeks and ever so slightly I am edging towards the full m performance kit.

Only concern is the alloys and I was wondering if I could get your opinions.

1- Ride handling I understand it won't be good as the 19" but in comfort will it be as good on smooth road surfaces? I know over the odd pot hole it might be hard.

2- Will they affect the handling or performance of the car?

Any opinions will be appreciated.

I keep looking at the 20's, but do hear it is a much harder ride, 19s are fine. I d also look at the tyre cost, as I think the 20s are a lot more. personally, I don't think the 20s do it justice. alot of the guys in the states seem to have CSL style alloys which look much better.

I have the full M Performance Kit but I have kept the 19s, I wasn't sure about getting the 20s as I thought they looked a bit oversized, looks good on 5 Series or Jags etc.. but thought they looked a bit too big for a 3 series. I'm not sure about any performance upgrades as such, if it were the difference between 17s and 20s then there would be noticeably better grip but I doubt there would be much difference between 19s and 20s.

If your getting xdrive though then you will have softer suspension in comfort mode compared to mine anyway.

I havn't completely ruled out 20s, maybe if I kerb my current 19s in a year I might re-consider to freshen things up but currently I'm happy with the look for now. Here's s link to my original intro phots if you want to see the wheel/kit combo for yourself:

profile is 30, similar to the 19's on my merc, seems the car is taller,
was pleasantly surprised the ride is ok, and the handling is much much improved, 23lbs per corner and designed/tested specifically for the F30.
I tried to buy the 19's but they are for the 1 series only.

u must have the m sport suspension for them to look right, as that is 10mm lower

I was surprised that 20s are not that bad at all, with m-adaptive suspension at least (when I got my car it already had them). In comfort mode, it is quite comfortable. And in sport they feel pretty sharp. From my experience the two biggest issues are 1) cost: I already had to replace a rear 255/30 due to a puncture and 2) road noise at highway speeds... The latter is sthg I didn't appreciate until I took a trip to the country side since most of my driving is local. But I personally like the looks... (Would post a pic but can't figure out how to upload from iPad!).

I have not experienced a fixed sport suspension, so that may make a difference
