MPPK (335) Air Filter

I've searched, and I cannot find this answer:

I know when you get the kit they swap the intake, but does the air filter stay the same? Same part number if I order it?

Yes, stay the same
Only the airbox is replaced with a similar one with a frontal red hole

Sounds like an expensive hole :-)

(Bad joke goes here)

What other differences are there in the airbox design?

Absolutely nothing: they have the same design (except of the hole ).
MPPK is mostly a sw tune, with a lot of features (better throttle responsiveness, increased exhaust pops even in "Confort", modified sport displays, more power and more torque with significant performance improvements...).

Yes - only the lower half of the airbox is changed, and includes the aforementioned extra opening with orange reinforcement. Upper part and snorkel are unchanged, uses same filter or any aftermarket (K&N or AFE) with same shape.

It's paper poo! That angers me. Take it out and compare to cotton competitors.

Wasn't there a study done that shows that K&N filters actually do not help one bit?

I've run a K&N in my SS for about 170,000 miles. The benefit is you can wash them and re-oil/reuse them rather than replacing. There's a HP advantage on this car but mostly because the entire intake system was changed along with the filter; became a cold air intake. If left stock, there's little gain in flow to bump up the HP on this car or our BMWs I'd imagine.
