Really not a fan of all the stickers on the M5. The front splitters look off too. I like a lot of the m performance parts for various models but the M5 looks beat without them imo

Between the coming Comp Package, titanium sports exhausts, ceramic brakes, m performance accessories you could add as much as 30k to the price of an M5 and for what, 10-15% more enjoyment? All the OEM's are seemingly going this route, with most exotic cars having 100k in carbon fiber options now, porsche having literally an endless list of options, audi/mercedes have also upped their games in this department as well with options. The M2 really nailed it in this department, having DCT/manual and exec package for options. KEEP IT SIMPLE. |

You're certainly entitled to your opinion, but M5s were always about being "wolf in sheeps clothing". The original E28 M5 looked nearly identical to a taxi you would see on the streets of Germany. During the early years, it would take a very enthusiastic connoisseur to be able to spot the front airdam and the wheels, as everything else sans the "M5" badge was cosmetically identical. Yeah over the years the M5 gained things like aerodynamic M-exterior mirros, quad-exhaust pipes, and fender vents, but overall there continued to be a sleeper aspect to the car, where an M5 would be indiscernible from a 5-series with M-sport/M-technic package at a quick glance, especially to the untrained eye.

Also since most of these cars are leased Buyers only pay a portion of those high costs. However my point is that the accessories don't look good.

All Merc's look the same now......C, E and S class. you spend $100+ on an E63s and it looks like a C class. just my opinion. |

Alot of the early cars I don't think will be leases this go around. Residuals will likely be in the tank (thinking 54-55% on launch), no MSD program, money factor has gone up, MSRP has gone up. We'll see i guess. |

I really like it. can't wait for CP to launch. will most likely do euro delivery on this one.
I also like the E63 but BMW is more exciting to me. personal preference I guess.

I don't see the point of a manual in a large car like M5.
BMW offers already 3 M models with such an option. The direct rivals like Audi or Merc don't offer one at all. Stripes are put on a Safety Car as an example. Normally on a business sporty car like this no one will add them so it's not a big deal. In terms of design, BMW offers a great difference between the models, it's easier to confuse Merc or Audi models. I would wait for some comparatives before the final judgement and of course the personal evaluation after a test drive |
