thinking of buying a used 228i GC?

I currently own a 2023 Elantra SEL. I am bored of the CVT (very), I always wanted a bmw and I am seeing that lightly used 228i Gran coups are going pretty cheap, saw some 2021 models >40k miles going under 24k

I test drove one a couple days ago and I kinda liked it alot, it drove sm better than my Elantra and was super smooth.

Anything I need to watchout for when I buy this car? I am thinking within the next 2 months or so.

I had a 2022 228i GC that I bought new and had it for 2 years. I just traded it for a 2024 228i GC. I had 0 issues with the 2022.

I bought a 2021 228ix about 4 months ago. Dealing with loud crappy run flat tires and need to get it looked at as I get a random hard shift around 2-4 gears. Very random. And rear diff was leaking and dealership put a brand new rear diff in it.

Runflats are the cause of horrid rides. My 2001 3 Series had a sport suspension and regular tires on 17" wheels, my 2011 3 Series had runflats and a not-sport suspension and 17" wheels. The ride in the 2001 was great, while the 2011 had a really harsh ride that my wife hated. Now, with my 2021 228i xDrive Gran Coupe (purchased last month) with not-sport suspension, my wife says its ride is much nicer than the 2011 with softer-than-factory runflat Bridgestone Driveguard tires! (BTW, my 2021 has runflat Pirelli Cinturato P7 on 17" wheels.)
I am a BMW owner since 1976. I find that the 228i gives me the same fun driving experience that I have not had since my E30 325i of 1987...not in the 2001 328i nor in the 2011 3328i. I do not understand the complaints about back seat shoulder room...it is a bit wider than my 1987 320i, not the grown-fat BMWs that followed the E30!
Yes, I would love to have the legendary smooth BMW 6 cylinder engines that I drove since 1981, but the turbocharged 4 cylinder is refined enough that I truly do not 'miss' not having 6 cylinders.
Would I buy another 228i xDrive Gran Coupe? YES!

BTW, I test drove a 2021 M235i xDrive, and while I loved the power and handling, its M sport suspension and 19" wheels and extra low profile tires gave a ride harsher than my 2011 328i, and I knew my wife would hate it even more for its ride...so avoid the M sport suspension, all reviewers have criticized the ride harshness. 18" wheels will tend to bend less due to potholes than 19" wheels, too.
