Coding Default Driving Mode

As I mentioned in a previous thread I was unable code sport mode as the default driving mode using the Bimmercode app. I sent an email to
Biimercode and was advised the the problem would be rectified when the app was updated. Last week the app was updated and I could open the Body Domain Controller and set sport mode as my default driving mode. It worked fine for one day and that defaulted back to comfort mode. I have reached out to Bimmercode. While awaiting their response I thought I would ask if anyone here has tried to set sport mode as the default driving mode with success. Thanks.

Discovered an additional issue. Not only does it not default to sport mode upon starting but while in comfort mode you cannot toggle to sport mode without going through eco mode first. I advised Bimmercode of the situation and they replied that "at the moment there is no solution available". Consequently, I would not advise anyone try to default to sport mode upon startup using the Bimmercode App.

that's a bummer, but thanks for the heads up on this. I have been wanting to code my car to default to sport but will hold off until bimmercode gets this sorted out.

I haven't tried regular sport mode, but I have mine coded to sport individual, and it works just fine with no ill effects as you describe.

It seems as though specific OBD devices are necessary. I used my old OBD bluetooth adapter yesterday and clearly a bunch of coding options are not possible (but I was able to rectify the one nagging preference to have the auto start/stop remain off with each start up). I ordered the CX mentioned above and hopefully many other coding options become available.

Same here. I used OBDLink CX. and BimmerCode. Starts in Sport mode every time and haven't had any side effects.
I know any OBD below the CX version won't work to change all features. I don't recommend trying that if your goal is Sport mode on startup.

Just in case someone lately had this problem (2023) - the latest Binmercode app offers tp set the standard driving mode or to remember the last one when starting the engine again.
