lost key fob.

So this morning I needed to get something out of my car and now I can't remember where I put my key fob.. I'm afraid I might have dropped it somewhere during the day.

The problem is I moved out here to Kansas with only one key fob with the spare in some box in my parents basement in Delaware. Closest dealership is about an hour away. Luckily I have another car..

Will/can the dealership get me a new key fob without the car?

Is the car locked? Can you get to your registration? I know that in the past when I wanted a computer cut key for a car I had to bring in ID and the actual registration to prove I was the titled owner. I would suspect that it would be the same for a fob.

If it is locked can you call BMW assist to unlock it for you so that you can get said registration?

Your fine just take your title to BMW and you can get a new key. Pricey though. It might actually be cheaper to get the extra FOB from your parents house. Call BMW first and do the math.

Ah, damn. I've done the same thing. It's really expensive for the new key FOB, hell almost better off buying a new car! Good luck whatever you do.

Thats very fortunate, call your folks ask them if they can help you look through the old boxes. I lost my fob for a month however I was fortunate that someone turned it in to their local dealer which gave me a call. I thought I was gonna have to she'll out 400 dollars. Get the extra key fob!

Cheers!
