Mat mentions that BMW has also been testing a trimotor setup with 720 hp. That is really interesting news!

He’s referring to the Power BEV prototype from a year and a half ago:

The iX is certainly a potential candidate for that, though it remains to be seen how both it and the upcoming high output drivetrain are positioned. There is also a 1000hp setup coming to the next generation G60 5 Series.
