Quick question about the pricing:

I know that the actual numbers haven't been set yet, but is the pricing going to be more in line with Dinan-ie. increased with each "stage"-or more like Procede where you change the map/tune depending on what mods you have, but without any additional price?

its actually straight forward

if you dont have an upgraded intercooler, you won't sustain the power as the stock IC gets heat soaked. It doesn't matter if its a flash or a piggy back (or even stock for that matter).

Well if they price it anything like their Audi Flashes I am guessing 600-800 depending on options.

If they price this over 800-900 people will either go Dinan for SOME warranty or keep their piggy backs.

A technical question -

Does the GIAC tune alter water pump/thermostat activity (including for the oil cooler)? One of the major concerns I have is the inadequate cooling from the factory.

Please advise.

Thanks.

Will the STOCK program also be available for dealer visits for those who aren't close to a GIAC dealer? I cant just pop in and get reflashed everytime I gotta go in for something without driving 2 hours to an authorized dealer. Look forward to the flash.

Also even though I already have a GIAC handheld switcher (i.e. its for the vw), can we use the BT cable to switch programs via laptop like my audi and vw uses the VAG cable?

Thanks!

clueless as I may be.. (and thanks for noting that) another astute assumption in your part

my point being, why dont we make comments on actual performance, rather than color someones judgement with unqualified data.. its common knowledge that the whole intake system could stand quite a few upgrades. but the thread is focused on the tune -- right, or im i clueless on that part too?

the tuners said this tune was designed to work with OEM components - no one has reported how far the performance is degraded with the boost level they are using -- seeing that the higher the boost pressures are, the hotter the intake charge becomes ...

they have made it clear that stage 2 requires an upgraded intercooler... period -- so the topic is stage 1 and its release .. so i suggest we wait till its time to talk INTERCOOLERS....

Stage 1 does not require an intercooler but you will have to upgrade it in order to be able to do 2 pulls without loosing power.

you know i hate going in circles -- unless its in a sprint car...

at no point of my initial statement or rebuttals have i said this car has the world greatest intercooler that should never be replaced. matter of fact i said the WHOLE intake system (for other than normal passenger car purposes) could use upgrading ... but there are some people have warranty concerns -- like keeping them intact. adding anything other than an oil catch can, may prove to be troublesome for them and the dealer where they service there car.

so if you want to start a thread about the necessity of upgrading your OEM intercooler, fine .. theres probably quite a few out there as it is.

Can someone elaborate more?
How can it be invisible to dealerships since the ECU software won't be the same as the OEM one and I thought the ECU keeps some events.

So when you need to visit dealership, you will need to flash back to OEM first?

excellent point, would be nice if this flash can open up the oil cooler thermostat at say 220 F instead of 250 F.

not agreeing or disagreeing with what you say but:
IMHO, time to find a new dealer and SA if they want to void your waranty cause of an IC... they should thank you actually.

my 2 cents
