F chassis diff lockdown kit

I got my lockdown kit from here: http://www.n54tech.com/forums/showpo...33&postcount=1 and thought it would be nice to share the info with the community.

This should be in the powertrain subforums. Your link is also dead.

Either way, what's wrong with the current F chassis diffs (stock and M Performance)? What problem is this "lockdown kit" trying to remedy?

I just replaced my stock open differential with a M Performance LSD and wrote a DIY here.

I was experiencing a wheel hop. This kit remedied the issue.

He's talking about wheel hop. LSD is not the solution for wheel hop. It's the bushings. Therefore, that thing may work because that's what he's replacing with a rigid construction.

Hmm, interesting. How much wheel hop were you experiencing? I haven't experience this at all on my car.

Usually every time when I WOT on slippery pavement, like when pavement is wet. I have remedied the issue by installing the lockdown kit.

Did you notice a difference with regular driving? Curious if you notice less drive train movement between shifts? That's one thing I'd like to clean up on this car, but figured it would be in the engine mount department..

Is this mainly a drag racing thing? Or will this help along the twisties too?

Hey, you run the same tires as me. I track my car, so yes, helps in twisties too.
