I am using a Mac as well, no issues at all with the aditional files it creates. And by the way, you can use NTFS without problems.

How did you read the fac?

Did you plug you enet cable though usb or thunderbolt?

No, I use Mac OSX.
I didn't have to, I use the official BMW Update software, which does provide the code via email.

Is 99euros for 2 years in Germany. Basically you get 4 updates in 2 years, each time with it's own code.

Was not worth getting all the equipment lol.
That being said I successfully removed all hidden files that were blocking idrive to start.
It's now all about reading the FSC and generation the code for the update.

Be sure to generate or buy lifetime code so you won't have to deal with that again.

If you are not able, you can just buy a lifetime code on ebay for $15

I have a PC so can't help you with the MAC.

For 2015 X5, you need NEXT. If you go to your Nav info, it will tell you what version you currently have.

At this point I need to generate the code

When I insert the USB it prompts if I'd like to update, when I accept it asks me to insert USB1. Everything is on a 32GB USB drive formatted as mentioned in this thread. Any ideas?

Did you get this to work. I too have a 2015 F15 (35d) and a mac. It's at the dealer now but when I get it back I plan on doing the update. Enet cable arrived today. In the past I tried with a 64gb Sandisk in the glove box. but it couldn't read it. Were you able to get it working?

I got the car to read the memory stick with the 2019-1 update.
You probably have one or two of the following issues:
1. Additional undesirable files on the drive: remove all hidden files created by MacOS
2. Drive formatting is not "right". You need Fat32. Though I ve read from m others that exFat and other format are fine as well.

I would love ok for issue #1 before proceeding with #2.

Later tonight I ll attempt again the code reading from VM through Enet cable and thunderbolt adapter. It's a bit technically challenging yo get it right here. Not sure how the tool reads get though the network.. story for another day / thread.
