check out my early xmas present to myself
LCI Halogen Halos -I can confirm they are Plug and Play
Halo in daylight Halo at night Halo Bulb only a 10w Currently investigating options for LED Halo Bulb replacement. Good thing is I can plug them in and test any modifications before fitting. The connector will reach if I just put lamp on top of old one.... |

Have those lamps got LED indicators? LCI ones should have which will surely throw an error even if the main lamps don't?

I thought all the LCI used LED indicators. Anyway, if it's a bulb then the job's a good 'un.

They were a bargain. Came off a 3 month old LCI E90 that had been sadly rear ended in a big way. The pair cost less than 1 new one from BMW ! Still had the warranty seals intact !!!!
Mind you I had to be patient, it has took me weeks and weeks to find these. |

wow that's well impressive!
Did you ring breakers then and ask them to call you when/if they got some in? I'm tempted to do the same! What's the link prior to the last post? Shipping from America I see - are they direct replacements or would they flag up errors on the e90? |

Good on you buddy, I managed to get a set from ebay for £200 from a 2009 model car and brand new with the seals in place... I thought its a bargain... enjoy... I will probably get lux 5 LED's fitted to the angels to make them ultra bright white... had a little misfortune with my xenon (retrofits)

The other option is to replace the stock bulb with the equiv LED bulb, these are available for about £15. Only problem is it would involve wiring in resistors to fool the warning system, and I don't think it would be bright enough. A guy in the states managed to fit the RD bulb, so thats what I am going to try first. Its a shame that BMW didn't use LED in the first place. The stock bulb actually does a good Job (As per the pictures), but its just too damn yellow. |

I agree with the price thing guys £140 inc del for led bulbs are a bit steep. But I had lux 5's on my xenon retrofit and I must admit its the brightest thing I seen on headlights and I kept getting people always comenting on how original and awsome it looked. My problem is it seems the old one doesnt work with the new I am told buy the guys who make the lux. This puzzles me as if the racing dash that works on the old can be fitted with just a simple mod to the connectors, why wouldnt the lux 5 for the pre lci not work... But if need be I ll sell my lux 5 on the forum and order the new ones... Enjoy boys..

Getting too much condensation on one side and the other side the connectors broke because some van driver decided that reversing into a car is a good thing... So I thought I cant be bothered with the hassle of the retrofit, So I found the LCI's with the angel eyes but I am gonna be selling my xenon bits on the forum soon including my lux 5's so keep your eyes peeled...

Hmm, Ive looked into this also, but the word is that its almost impossible to remove the bulbs and replace - they are soldered into their mounts and theres a fair chance the mount will break if you try to remove the bulb.... so Ive heard anyway!! If you do get any joy or know otherwise, please let me know! Cheers Andy |

No solder. I have already had bulb holder out and had it apart. piece of cake. Bulb is just a little 10w with pins, come straight out. Thats why I was thinking LED bulb ..... but going to try some RD first.

Not fitted yet, I am waiting for some 6w LED Marker form SSDD. So far I have had them both plugged in, they are the exact same plug as the non halo lamps, also the headlamp level motors work correctly which is a bonus over the ebay copy lamps from taiwan and no errors on dash. Tested indicators etc, no problems.
Hoping the bulbs come over the xmas break so I can busy. will up date as soon as I get LED bulbs |
