Strange anomaly. Happen to you?
I don't have comfort access. I used the fob to unlock the door as usual. I inserted the fob in the ignition. When I stepped on the brake preparing to press START, it felt like there was positive resistance from the brake pedal. It wouldn't depress at all, was very firm. When I pressed START, nothing happened. Silence. The dash lights and parking lights came on when I insterted the key, but it wouldn't start.
I took the fob out, locked and unlocked the doors, and everything worked normally. Brake pedal depressed, and the engine started. No warning lights or anything, and it hasn't happened again all day. Has this happened to you? I'm very curious why the brake pedal would feel like that.

Yep, what he said. If you put in the fob, then push on it some more to make sure its in all the way, you'll actually make it pop back out. Then you'll get what you got. |

I haven't had that exact problem. Although sometimes when I get in the brake pedal is very stiff. Haven't had any starting problems though.

This just happened to me for the first time three days ago. Post March 07 build date...Got in the car, pedal had a lot of resistence, hit the start button and the car would not turn over. Lights, air, etc running but, it wouldn't turn over. Locked it, unlocked it and pumped the brake hard. I could feel it give a little and the car started. Happened again this morning after sitting all night. Anyone with a solution?

Happens occasionally. I just press the start button and it starts normally though.

That's because the brake is operated by a hydraulic-pump.
No ignition power => no hydraulic-pump. Try turning the ignition off, press a few times on the brake-pedal, it will become "hard" again.

Then it should always occur? It only happens occasionally.

Yes, it should always occur.
Before starting your car in the morning, try to press on your brake-pedals multiple times, it will always turn stiff/hard. There may be some residual hydraulic fluids left inside the pump which will soften up the brake-pedal initially, but if no ignition is on, the hydraulic fluid will eventually run out and the brake-pedal will turn stiff/hard again. You can try to out now.
