Vinyl Wrap Help
So I went to get my car tinted and trim vinyl wrapped today. They called me to tell me that they could not finish the vinyl wrap because they could not get it on the piece on the trunk -see pic. He said he called 3 other people and all said they could not do it because the gap btw the trim and the paint was too tight. They said the only other way to do it was to remove the trim and replace which risked damaging the trim and would double the cost because of the hours involved. They also said they could not do the very front under the side view mirrors without removing the mirror also more $$$. He called a painter who was worried that if he painted it and tried to reinstall it it may chip as it bent to snap in.
Help, I really want to black out my trim. Anyone know anyone in arizona who can do this for a reasonable price? I really trust the guy who did it but I know it is possible.

You need to PM a member named navfaz. He just successfully had his E93 wrapped in matte black vinyl. Entire car!

Sorry, but your vinyl installer is wrong. It is actually quite easy to do under the mirrors without removing them. He just has to go from under the mirror. If you want another solution, you can get it powdercoated. And as for the rear trim piece, it can be done. He might not be able to tuck the vinyl under the piece, but it could be done without removing the trim simply by just applying the vinyl on top of the trim and cutting around the edge. Ffor an area like that with a basically non-existent gap, an extra mm of material can be left on so once the vinyl is hit by the sun and heat gun, it will shrink over the trim, not leaving any gaps or chrome showing.

Sorry man but you went to the wrong guy. I just had it done and it came out great. No issues. They've done it plenty of times before and it took an hour and change. I think You need to find someone else with experience.

So does anyone know anybody in Arizona who can do vinyl wrapping on me e93? I am in Phoenix but would be happy to drive to Tuscon or flagstaff.

Arghhh!!! I have asked 4 vinyl wrappers. None will touch my car - none want to cut the vinyl on the car and risk scratching, and all are afraid to remove trim and break it! I am becoming a litte obsessed with this and don't know what to do. The closest place I know I can get it done is socal but that's a 5-6 hour drive.
