I have a June 2013 build F30 so do I code GNH to 6NK or 6NS? The posts indicate that the 2014 model needs coding 6NS but older models 6NK. Is this correct?

I am going to try and do this tomorrow!

Build dates beginning 07/2013 use 6NS, and prior to that is 6NK.

Hey shawn, I don't know if I missed it, but can a car that came with 6NH be coded to have all of the functions of 6NS?

I think he's referring to bmw apps and the plugin GUI.

6NS replaces 6NF and 6NL on 07/13 builds. If you VO code HU_NBT with 6NS only, you will get the snap in adapter under external devices.

Vithy and I tried moving one of the main USB HSD cables over to the curry port on the NBT and our apple devices will show up as if it was in the snap in adapter. The plug in interface also works but it just won't play videos. BMW apps also works when our devices were connected to the curry port with 6NS coded.

When I VO coded 6NS to the 2014 320i with entry, that car also had the base plate option show up. For the older builds, you would need 6NL and 6NF for these features to be available.

just took delivery of a new 2014 UK f31 with professional media and would like to activate EBT , is there any chance you can advise what version of the Pdzdata files I need and send me a link for the files as I have version 49.4 at present and that's throwing up cafd errors , Great website! If you could pm me that would be great

Many thanks you are a star , worked perfectly and now have 6NS enabled to the car , Can you confirm if I can enable 614 internet the same way to my car by changing the FA ( UK 2014 f31) please and if it still works via the cars built in sim? Thanks for your help but im still a bit of a newbie to this....

No, I don't think so. If you do not have factory 614, your VIN will not have access to Internet Portal just by adding 614.

Im trying to code ebt but I dont have 6NH. I have the combox and when i check the FA i have 6NF, 6NL, and 6NR.

Seems to be a bit of different information around the web, and not sure what is correct. I have a 328i manufactured in 5/2012 without nav, but with bluetooth and USB. I looked in the trunk and do not see a combox. If I want to retrofit a combox, is it as simple is plugging in the box and coding, or is there more to it than that. What I am most interested in is bluetooth audio, but I am also interested in what else I gain if it is possible. Thanks in advance.

Incidentally, can anyone tell me how BMW manage to justify charging extra for EBT when all the necessary hardware is already present? An insult to their customers, surely?

It's a pretty common practice in the tech industry. Go read about what they do with CPUs, very often the high end, mid-range, and low end are the exact same chip with some form of limiter applied. It's cheaper for the manufacturer to make all of the same thing and turn off functions.

You'd think, though, that they'd offer it as an option to be turned on. I know I'd have paid $100-150 at the dealer for it. Instead, I just had it coded. BMW's loss, I guess
