Coding Angel Eyes as DRL--> Pre LCI E90
Hey guys,
Just picked up my E90 last week. I'm ordering a set of LED's for the angel eyes, and want to have them running whenever the car is on...without the inner H7 DRL's on. I purchased a daeos vista harness..but after more research, I may be able to do this with coding SO Can someone provide a walkthrough of what to do and if this is possible? TAGFAHRLICHT_ECE_1 --> aktiv VERHALTEN_DRL_TFL --> drl_s DRL_TFL_MIT_SML --> aktiv For reference, here is the cable I'm gonna purchase. Appears to have the coveted green pcb and is a great price: http://www.ebay.com/itm/INPA-K-CAN-K...item2a2fd7d380 I'll follow the DIY guide video located here to get it set up: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=859474 If anyone sees anything wrong with my plan, please let me know. Im from the VW community and have done lots of coding and logging there with VCDS, but the BMW world is fairly new to me and I have a lot to learn. Thanks |

Hey big_c,
I too have a pre lci E90 and was able to do this with coding. IIRC, your headlights need to be set to AUTO in order for it to work. Looking at my notes, those are the only changes you need to make to FRM (NFRM) module. That cable looks exactly like mine. I bought mine from eBay and it works perfectly fine. Since it's your first time doing coding, setting it up will take a few tries. Patience is key. The end result will be well worth it |

The one in your OP is good. I just had issues with daten files. I downloaded quite a few, I honestly don't remember which one worked and where I downloaded it from lol!
I used a netbook running XP. I didn't want to bother with trying to setup Win7. |

In NFRM: Tagfahrlicht_ece_0 Aktiv Verhalten_drl_tfl drl_s Also you might want to code these to give the option in the BC to turn the DRL's on or off whenever needed with this: In Kombi change the following to Aktiv: Tag_licht_an Tag_licht_aus I guess you know that in order to activate drl's your car needs to be built after 4/07? Yep just code it, you might as well set both the ece0 and ece1 to aktiv. Also another very nice thing to code which the LCI 's have as standard is cruise control speed display, so when you set the cruise control it briefly comes up where the time and temp is saying the speed you've set. In KOMBI TEMPOMAT_SETZ_ANZ_DAUER Change the value from wert_01 to wert_02 |

Guys, a fellow coder was able to remove my DLR via coding which allowed my angel eyes to become 'daytime' lights. But I just need to turn the head light switch to parking lights.
I did have the CIC option for "enable/disable DLR" but after tinkering with my CIC coding, the option disappeared. But my DLR's still disabled. My car's an 06 with FRM 1

I have set the above on NFRM, AE did works as DRL but also along with the taillight..... is there a way to have only AE as DRL but not the taillights? ** Edit.... I finally solve this, again Thanks to the infro from this forum** For the Kombi setting... I don't see any add function on BC after I made that code change.... what else can I do to have an option in the BC to turn the DRL's on or off. ** Edit... still can't have this function, I guess it won't happen on early car with CCC ** Car is 09/2007 production / with NFRM module. Sorry I've to bring this thread back..... hope someone can share more info on it. Thanks a lot

NFRM TAGFAHRLICHT_ECE_0 ...... aktiv VERHALTEN_DRL_TFL .... change to VERHALTEN_DRL_S DRL_TFL_MIT_RL_BL_2 ..... nicht_aktiv Try to see if those work for you.

Read the carly coding thread. It's long; very long, but there's a guy who lists out exactly what to code. He used different colour text in his post so you should be able to find it pretty quickly.

Anyone mind explaining what the difference in pre-lci and lci headlights are o.o I know there are certain things that are different but, what effect does the coding do to the pre-lci
