Looks like the crap it is, IMHO. I don't drive hard, really, no shit mentioned or any interest for it, but I feel it's RWD all the time and I appreciate it! If you don't feel how your ass moves (or if it moves at all) then there's no point to bother, of course.

No comparison regardless of what you paid.

Looks like it's a generation or two behind competitors, even the new corolla and mazda3 are miles more interesting than this bland lump.

Quote from the press release:
Actuator contiguous wheel slip limitation works in close tandem with the DSC system to bring about a clear reduction in the power understeer normally experienced in front-wheel-drive cars. I've got a fix for that. Put the engine the correct way around and make the car RWD

BMW tries to beat Audi at their own game with Haldex-AWD and 4-Pots. But it's an ugly design and Audi just does interiors better. Let's see how it will sell. I like the seats 👌🏻

Unfortunately most people who buy a 1 series don't know the difference between FWD and RWD. Don't believe me, then look at the clientele of the 2 series active tourer.
These are the people that say a car just gets you from A to B. We can only hope, that BMW wants to retain car enthusiasts within the other segments, rather than just mass market appeal.

Looks nice. FWD is unfortunate but the rest of the segment has been that since the beginning of time.
