So hipster, all these people acting like it's cool to abuse cars or destroy them because hey "driving them is what they are made for."

Well, there's a happy medium. You can drive the car, enjoy it, utilize it, not baby it, but also take care of it both mechanically and cosmetically.

An M3 isn't made for snow no matter which way you cut it. So while it's not wrong to do so, it's not great for it -- but I won't ever judge you for it, just the same way I wouldn't get on someones case for not driving their car 6 months out of the year.
Exactly. Now I'm not going to pretend we get weather like that in SC, but I wouldn't drive it in the conditions we've had this past week. Also depends how long people are planning to keep the car. I'm glad to say that I'm the second owner and the car was in Cali previously, so it's in mint condition. I've seen an E92 with 3k miles from Chicago and there was surface rust all over the underside.

I have no problem driving the car in the winter, just not when things are at its worse. I realize some people can't have multiple cars, but I can. So when there's icy rain, potential hail, or snow, the M stays inside, the beater 4Runner does its thing.

P.S. It's always refreshing going from driving the 4Runner for a while, then back in the M3. The first time I touch the brakes, I nearly go through the windshield.

I used the live in MN and drove my old E90 M3 year round. I don't miss driving in those conditions and dealing with the constantly dirty car, garage, shoes, etc. If we move back I hope to get a winter car but I will say that my M3 held up really well. The bolts under the car did have some minor corrosion making suspension work a little more difficult but the paint finish looked great. In fact I didn't have a clear bra and when I moved to CA multiple people commented on the good condition of my bumper and hood - even by CA standards. Most modern cars aren't going to fall apart when exposed to salt in the short term; the differences will be seen 15 to 20 years from now.

I get mine dirty all the time. It adds character to it in my opinion. But I also do clean it up and keep it waxed and sealed also, I love it haha. I have some more awesome dirty pictures on my dslr at home, these were on my phone.
