Otherwise I am sure it will be a good uprgade after the Golf.
Thx in advance for your help!
Go for it. Just got a 128ti (after 2 GTis, - Mk5 and a Mk7) a Scirocco and a A250. The ti beats the pants off them all!

enjoy!!

Not certain about that statement:

https://www.autobild.de/artikel/bmw-...-19379213.html

I also had the impression that the pricing on the 128ti was very self confident. Inventory cars here start at around 50k€. Ouch!

and other reviews say other things. The big thing against the Golf seems to be that just about everything is operated through soft switching on the MFD. And I was looking to get my third GTi!

Agree, test are dominantly positive and the proposal seems to rime with what one could expect from a premium brand like BMW: balanced and composed and offering potentially the most mature experience in this segment. But for the price they charge for it, they could have provided a 300hp RWD platform with the ZF8HP easily!

Still waiting to order mine... seems my dealership has a lot of work lol. I asked when they have time to put my summer tires on my CS so I will order the M135i at the same time. A bit in a hurry since I don't know if the deals are going to be the same during April... (0.9% lease). Maybe they know the April incentives will be as good as March so they arn't in a hurry

Had news... my email has been deviated to their spam mailbox... this explains why they didn't give me an answer
On Saturday I will go to my dealership to put summer tires and they will find a solution if the March deal could be done.

I am really happy. The car has the right size for my wife and it is in an another league than the Golf.

hm don't they always say that then the car arrives 3 weeks early. My 135 arrived almost a month earlier than expected, was quite surprised.

Back to subject of the post: latest review GTI versus 128ti, a clear win for the GTI!

https://www.auto-motor-und-sport.de/...128ti-vw--gti/

In short: BMW engine loses steam beyond 5500rpm GTI not, BMW is too much understeered when you push it and the diff is a placebo while GTI grips, BMW brakes are not circuit track capable and collapse way sooner than GTI. On circuit, consequently, the BMW is slower than GTI and by a wide stretch!

They also mention the i30N and Focus ST as more sportive alternatives for a lesser price to the BMW ti, which to them is overhyped by BMW.

Don't forget built quality, technology (iDrive is awesome) & ergonomic. I don't think people will often track those cars. Sure track times translate the driving dynamics but buyers in this segment have slightly different needs. This is why you can buy GTi, 128ti,…

Dealer sent me pics this morning. Delivery next week Semiconductors impacted mine since the initial delivery was scheduled for beginning of May.
