It sets the dampeners to a really soft setting. So soft the car wallows as it goes over traffic calming measures You need the adaptive dampers for this. I've not really noticed changes to the engine / transmission but other G20 owners say it does change that too.

You need the Driver Assistance Professional for the lane change and traffic light assistant.

Is there a cheat sheet for Gxx that I just can't find? I can only seem to find Fxx ones

Have a look through the G20 and G05 coding forums as there's a lot on there.

BDC_BODY3
- CAFD_00007083
- ComfortWorldMode1 - Ausgelesen = ComfortPlus
HU_MGU
- CAFD_00003E52
- FES_COMFORT_PLUS - Ausgelesen = activ
- ECO_CONF_STEERING_COMFPLUS - Ausgelesen = activ
- ECO_CONF_ATTENUATION_COMFPLUS - Ausgelesen = activ

Quick question does this coding effect the warranty?
Someone was telling me if BMW finds out they will void the warranty..

Is that true.

I've not heard of anyone having any issues. I've coded my last few BMW's and Audi's and not had any issues. Some of the ones on my Q7 were really obvious too e.g. beep on lock and never had any problems.

i have already coded some things, but i could not find a way to let the flap open all the times.

I've got the following on my G21 which gives you a menu where you can choose sporty so the flap is open regardless of the driving mode. Not sure if it works on the F40:

HU_MGU
- CAFD_00003E52
- DISPLAY_MENU_CONFIGURATION_ENGINE_SOUND - Ausgelesen = enabled (was disabled)
- DISPLAY_CONFIGURABILITY_ENGINE_SOUND - Ausgelesen = aktiv (was nicht_aktiv)

Coding the active sound design does not open the exhaust valve.

Is this a limitation on the F40? On my G21 it is opening the exhaust valve and you can clearly hear the difference with the door open. You can hear the switch on the valve and change in exhaust tone, not just what is piped through the speakers.

F44/f40 the active sound design does not interact with it. If you want it open, simply cold start and unplug it. Done

Refer to this thread. I have outlined all the information right from bmw.

That information is incorrect for my G21 M340i at least. Changing the Engine Sound from Sporty to Reduced whilst the car is not in a Sport Driving mode, opens and closes the exhaust valve.

I just put the iPhone under the exhaust to be 100% sure (even though I could clearly hear it opening and the exhaust note changing). On the recording you can clearly see the valve activating.

Edit: Seen a few other posts that perhaps it is a different behaviour for the M340i. So maybe the same is true for the 128ti and M135i?

Hi

What software / App are you guys using to code F40, At the moment I have carly app and adaptor Gen2 which I sued to use to code my F31 without problem.

I can't use this with my F40 it's not doing it don't know why, is there another dongle I need to use?

Also what sort of coding I can do with my M135i.

Thanks.

Bimmercode is probably the best place to start for ease of use. I opted for Esysx as it can access modules BC cannot. Depends on what you want to do. The 3 series and X5 coding forums have a lot of info.

I don’t use it, but if you look at the site, it gives plenty of guidance

It will throw a shadow code that you cannot see.

Can anyone confirm all of the options required for Sports Plus? And what does Comfort Plus even do?

Edit: Pretty sure it's coded correctly. I'm convinced the effects that people are seeing with Sports Plus are a placebo. Couple of reasons:

1. Absolutely no difference from what I can tell. Sports Plus mode is same as Comfort for me which is the default mode. That tells me that the car doesn't have the Sports Plus mode and so defaults to Comfort.
2. Xtraboost is also able to be programmed but that's a setting for the 330e and does nothing for the F40. Sports Plus is a mode in the M340i.

We all know they share the same iDrive so I believe it's down to this that allows us to add these settings but it doesn't actually do anything.
Happy to be proven wrong.
I echo re throttle response. I have a manual F44 and have all the code done. There is no difference in terms of throttle response between sport (standard/plus), comfort (standard/plus).
There is however between the mentioned and eco pro, eco is definitely softer.

But I do notice there's a difference between sport and comfort - the turbo seems to be working more diligently. When in comfort mode it gave most power between 2000 - 3000rpm; where as in sport mode it kicks in earlier and lasts longer, between 1500 - 4000rpm.
The engine also seemed to work differently, can tell from oil consumption lol. Under similar traffic (mixed with congestions and freeways), comfort can do around 7-8.XL/100Km, sport can do 8-9.XL/100Km. I've even seen it reached 10L/100Km when in sport plus, am not entirely sure about that coz I didn't put in sport plus for long.
From other readings I also learnt that sport plus is just simply a sport standard with DSC off, in that sense there should be no difference in terms of engine performance whatsoever.
