dummy inner headlights ?

Hi,

Are the inner headlights cosmetic on all F44 models or regions ?

Today I noticed that the inner headlights (near the grille) are not doing anything even when there is a projector.

I've read that in some models they are used a cornering lights or just to preserve the looks, but I would like to know if they can be coded to work after maybe installing a led bulb if not there already.

I have Adaptive Headlights with High Beam Assist and I'm pretty sure the inner light you referring to come on when you got High Beam Assist on.

The Cornering light is the 3rd light in my picture.

I don't have High Beam Assist, just regular LEDs. :/

I'm curious if there is a way to make them work, so they are not just cosmetic. It even has the protector, it's not just an empty hole.

Just put the your High Beams on and see if they come on.

I tried that, but the high beams come on in the outer lights only.

Okay, I've tried everything when the car is stationary and the inner light does not come on. The only lights on is the main light and the small corner light.

Some people on other forums think the inner lights comes on in certain situations and others think its just a dummy light.

Yeah, I read something like that.

I've ordered an OBD adapter for a couple of things I wanted to play with; so I'll see if there is a way to make them work in a few days. It seems like it has all LED modules, but they are just disabled.

No luck so far. There is no straight option for that in bimmercode for this model. I'll have to dig in the expert options, but I haven't found much information out there.

I am a X1 pre FL owner and that annoyed me 4 years. I started to work on a project to retrofit 2 pairs (total 4) of aftermarket LED projectors into headlight housing. the inner bulb will lights up as well.

I got regular LED light now but I could hardly notice I switch them on when I drive in city. the car is very good but the headlight light sucks
