This is an older Post. You should follow the updated one I made on the jb4. Right now it seems to be the only option till Dinan releases a time but that doesn't mean it's not an awesome one

Shouldn't be too much longer.

Is their testing on the new M240i a higher HP/Tq gain than the B58 engine they did on the 340 etc? If so that would be awesome. I know they were able to get the M235 to 100 hp/tq more with the full Stage 3 tune.

It was on an M240i. I think this is a stronger tune than the M340i. They think the X3 M40i is the exact same tune as the M240i, but have to verify.

That would be great. The guys on '2addicts' are posting some strong numbers for their M240i. Does Dinan ever participate within this forum?

Looks like it's a basic stage 1 so far on the 235 with a modest increase of 40hp/60torque. That's not too shabby. Since the 240i is less base HP (by 20 or so I think) than the X3 M40i, it should get us to about 405/410hp and 450 or so torque. I'd still love to see them do a stage 2 and maybe a stage 3 or offer a solid power pack like they do on the 235i which can bring it to the specs below (starting hp/torque us under the M40i as well). If we added something like this package to our M40i's...you'd be looking at 475hp or so and 485-495 torque. That'd be insanity. But they did larger intercooler and bigger turbo on that one and I'm not sure the design of our engine would allow that (especially the intercooler from things I've read).

Max HP Gain 128 @ 6000 RPM
Max Torque Gain 113 @ 6000 RPM
Peak Horsepower 445 @ 6000 RPM
Peak Torque 455 @ 3000 RPM
Factory Rated HP 320 (326 Measured)
Factory Rated Torque 330 (379 Measured)

They're pretty conservative and their initial dynos had the stock cars at 378/395 with their tune taking it up to 426/463.

What Dinan did with the 440i xdrive with B58 engine seems like it would be more comparable to ours than the M240, but I'm a newbie. That engine has the same base HP/Torque numbers. With a stage 1 $1300 tune, to get to 426/463 isn't too shabby. Can add another 5-10hp with a few other changes I'm sure. But I still would love to see it in the 450-475hp range.

My gut based on weight and times we are running on Map 5 with the JB4, tells me we are between 440-450 hp. The first one of us that throws Meth Injection on will lay down some awesome times.

I'd be thrilled by a stage 1 and definitely by a stage 2 tune. I like the JB4 numbers, but don't want to chance my warranty.

I'll wait on Dinan since they match the factory powertrain. I may have to give them a call next week to see how their testing went with the M40i.

I am going to go for it at some point this summer... I just need to set aside a weekend to do it.

I went from a Tacoma and an M4 to just the X3 which has been great, except for the not having a backup car to drive

Realistically to the wheels, I'm thinking a 20% degradation at most.

Still, that's 341 WHP and 371 WTQ. I'll take it!

Just finished installing my BJ4 this weekend. I must say wow.....forgot the feeling of adding some boost. Night and day! Now just some fine tunning, started on MAP1, hopefully with 93 Octane I can jump to MAP2. Posting some logs to see how it's looking.

I have a TMAP error code, that's about it. Not sure what is going on checked all the connections.

There is a nozzle adapter available for the B58 as Burger states there is no need to upgrade the factory charge pipe so I would say it would work for our cars.
