Need help with Wheel Selection ARC-8 vs EC-7

So, it seems that I cannot make a decision myself, both styles are great but I can figure out what to choose.
Apex website recommends this for a staggered setup for 18":
Quote:
Front: 18x8.5 ET35 or ET38 (ARC-8) with 235/40-18 tires
Rear: 18x9” ET42 with 255/40-18 tires
Available in: ARC-8, ARC-8R, EC-7R
Direct fit.
Color will be Hyper Black for ARC-8 and race silver for the EC-7.

I'm inclined to the EC-7, but I'm not sure if the offset will be appropriate to create the concave effect. If the EC-7 does not show enough concave effect, I would definitely look for the ARC-8.

I will also be putting H&R lowering springs. -1.3: front, -1" back.

I don't have much experience with this, and is not like I can go to a tire shop and try to chose what I like best.

Any input/help.

Concave shallow effect picture #1, deeper effect on picture #2.

Tough choice, personally to me, EC-7 looks much nicer, just because it has low-profile tires.

I contacted Apex, unfortunately, the bolt pattern for this car is 5x112.
According to wheel-size.com, the stock 17" rims are 17x7.5 with an offset of 54.
my wheels are 225-45-17.

Not a lot of options out there, VMR can custom their 710 wheels, but they are out of stock until July. He said their system does not show many options. He was offering a 18x8.5 with an ET45 offset. But he wasn't sure as they have no records of our car.
He offered to schedule an appointment for a fitmen test.

Any wheel expert here? Any advice on a different brand?

I want to keep it under $400 a wheel.

Thx.

I don't believe any of the APEX wheels available today will fit these cars. The 8.5 wide wheel would stick out further from the fender, and I doubt there's much space on this car.

I bought a set of the 554m forged wheels because my car came with the 19" summer tire option. Will try and sell that original set… if anybody wants them I'm based in NorCal

You're right, 8.5 wheels seem to be too wide. I ended up ordering the BBS CI-R, they are 19x8 with a +44 offset. (Oem wheel is 17x7.5 +54)

I checked the wheel-size website, this wheel will stick out about 17mm, I checked against my car as much as I could to verify the fender clearance, it looks like I will be right for a flush stance. I may have to use 225 tires, going 235's will stick out additional 5mm.

My order still pending manufacturer availability. I'll send you a PM, I might be interested in your wheels.
