17 Days...
I will have to go 17 days without my car.... wow...
How long have gone without your BMW? Or should I ask... How long before you want to return home from your vacation just because you miss driving your car?? Also, it's okay if I leave it for 17 days right...? Or should I ask someone to drive it.. (gasp!)

I've left mine sitting about that long. Kept it under a car cover. For 17 days, you don't need to do anything special or have someone start the car. I drove it the day after I got back and it started just like normal. But yes, I did miss it.

I normally go for a few days or even a week sometimes ........ I love driving my 4Runner too!
Besides, when you do get back behind the wheel of the bimmer; you have a new found appreciation for just how much fun IT is to drive. |

haha, seriously. hopefully you have a cheap rental car while your gone, so you'll appreciate your car that much more when you return. I had to drive my mom's toyota corolla while I was in hawaii for 10 days. People who say 328's are slow are really out of touch with reality.

I had to go to China for work for 3 weeks.
Came out to 23 days. I came back to a dead car. The battery had a shorted cell. Fixed under warranty and all was well. |

6 weeks without my car!!!! because my car was parked and was hit by a A-hole, parts had to come from germany for my car and the insurance company on his side takes 3-4 days to process simple things!
Not my only car but i really miss it. |

I just came back from a 20 day trip where I left it in my friends garage. Started right up. I now appreciate it so much more after driving other peoples cars for a few weeks.

I've had to go roughly 8 weeks before, on an extended vacation in Bulgaria. Though while I was there I had the opportunity to experience my Dad's Merc S420 diesel, which inspired me to get my own oil burner here in the states. So it all turned out for the better.

Ten days...earlier this month. The diesel fluid pump went bad and it took the dealer 3 days to diagnose the problem and then another week to get a replacement in from Germany.

Even for two or three months, everything should be fine. Beyond that, I'd stabilize the gas at a minimum, and possibly attach a battery tender. If you're expecting wide temperature variations, I'd park on scraps of carpet to reduce any flatspotting.

I am at about 10 days since my car has been in the body shop. About 3 weeks to go so I am stuck with a Ford Focus until it is fixed.
