Whooo! Harsh! You should start your own thread about how you Hate on alot of cars here on the board and how smart people are who share your point of view and how not smart anyone else is instead of taking every opportunity to bash on modified cars.
It's unfortunate that you have to bear with the freedom we have here to "Desecrate " our cars. I feel your suffering, and I am sorry that I am doing my part to make the world a worse place for people like you. I have to go now and shine my... Quote:

Don't you think it would a lot more than just bolting on a few bits to actually improve the car. Ever heard of R&D? Some people have the skill to really enhance a vehicle with well considered enhancement but the vast m ajority do not. Some mod just for the looks and if they like it, that' fine, but I was simply expressing my opinion that most of the visual mod things I've seen look worse than stock to me. If you talking about overall performance then some can improve peak power but usually at the expense of driverability. Others can improve absolute grip but usually with penalty of ruining the ride and handling dynamics.

I take pride in being modded and don't really understand why anyone wouldn't want to personalize their vehicle? A question for the "it is all BMW parts crowd". Is it a mod if I shoehorn a M5 engine into an E90? It is a BMW part! Here is my view, anything changed/added/deleted from the way the car was ordered is a mod. Doesn't matter who built it or who did the work. |

So I guess my answer is it bothers me to a degree because I don't go out of my way to express (my opinion) how much I don't like how a person has done something (unless that person is bragging or such). If it bothers me that much, I don't reply. Of course your free to express your self how ever you want so whatever, don't mind me, I'm just cooking some rice here. Danny

I like the way it is and I'd rather keep it that way. I just can't spend myself spending thousands of dollars on visual mods just so I stand out from the crowd. I have not seen one E90 around here with blacklines and different rims/bodykit,etc so I'm not the only one
I used to hate modding after seeing so many souped up Honda's and old cars at NYC but I saw many E90s here with tasteful mods. I personally have no problem with it if people wants to spend their time and money on it but I just can't see myself doing it. I bought my E90 the way I like it by adding options such as iDrive-Nav so that's enough for me. I am only thinking of buying another set of OEM wheels/tires in the future.

There are tactful ways to express every opinion, but I can't force you or anyone else to be tactful, I was just expressing my opinion on your opinion

I would have to agree with some of the other posters that if the feature is available from the factory, it is considered an option. Anything else would be a modification (i.e. anything found in BMW's accessories catalog, items from other manufacturers/tuners, etc).
My car is completely stock. The only modification I have purchased for my car is a set of 17inch winter wheels with RFT winter tires. This is the first car that I have ever purchased that I don't really feel the need to modify. However, if I were to modify my car, I would consider the following: -Ipod adapter (when I decide to finally buy an iPod) -19 inch wheels (if I lived in a place with smooth roads...definitely won't happen if I stay in the NYC area).

The problem for me is that there is no car on this planet that I like the way it is... there's always something I can nitpick about every car --even if I fully mod my car, there's still going to be something about it I don't like and wish I could improve upon... hence the moddiction.
