Reminds me of the 2AT I saw recently.

Pass.

With the 4,6,8GC, I get it, they have low, coupe-like roofline which make the car lower and wider looking. But this 2GC looks like a normal sedan, with a normal sedan roofline, that's much taller than any existing GC. So, why not just call this a 1 Sedan?
Because they are stupid. Same reason they decided to take the M3 name and put it on the sedan only and NOT the coupe.

I have no idea why they are trying to sell a FWD/AWD car that is a " 2 series " and also a RWD coupe that is a 2 series when they are from completely different platforms and one is a rebadged MINI.

Looks like BMW styling cues grafted onto a Ford Focus.

Whomever designed the front back and sides didn’t meet.

From a performance perspective, isn't it better having the front calliper toward the back end of the wheel, i.e. not the leading edge? For better cooling flow to pads etc.
Because FRONT WHEEL DRIVE...

It's the front headlights. The swoopy line is the same as all the economy carmakers do (focus, Kia, etc)

Side profile definitely looks like a Kia or Honda.
Nothing against those respectable brands. It just doesn't look like a BMW.

Calling it the 2gc is misleading. I think that's part of the reason why the reception has been negative, at least on this site. If you're expecting a real 2 series gc, that's not what this car is.

It doesn't look that bad. It's not exactly beautiful, but it doesn't look horrible for a sporty little entry level daily driver. Fwd layout isn't going to win over enthusiasts, but I don't think this car is intended for enthusiasts.
