Remember when BMW restructured their naming convention so sedans would be odd numbers and coupes would be even... and then made an even numbered sedan version of every coupe they make.

Z4GC coming soon.

That wouldn't make me give up my M235i coupe. Anyone that would give up their car because of that needs to get their priorities in order.

Great Bmw basically just made a faster CLA250 I'm glad Bmw is making cars for everyone now instead of just making good cars that are relevant to Motorsport 3,5,7 that's all they need. Smh

Only 3, 5, and 7? What do you have against coupes?

Proportions look good for a FWD based car

Man oh man, the 4er GC is ugly but this is just a shorter higher version.

Seriously could be a generic Kia/Hyundai/Honda in my eyes

Which is weird, because Audi for example can make a good looking sedan in different sizes - I like the shape of both the A3 and A4.

This thing could have been awesome - maybe the camo is hiding something great from a body shell perspective, but no ///M version = no real competitor to the RS3...

I also find the A3 a bit dumpy, like it needs to be a touch longer for the properitons to work. I do like the bigger “4 door coupes” such as A5, A7, and 6 series GC but I find the smaller cars just don’t pull it off well.

Far far too many model variations now from all the German brands

Already confirmed to have the wrong part of both per mkoesel
Maybe it might have a correct option? Hopefully? :

Agreed. Most people hella stoic like they just lost all their money on a gamble. Haha
Every time I get optimistic that bmw might get their head out of their arses and make a RWD compact sedan again , mkoesel comes and kicks sand in my face so I figured i would invite him back around for ya.

My BMW wishlist

1- M2 further progress - with 6MT
2- M2 Gran coupe with RWD and 6MT
3- curious about X3M vs X3M40

Either way .. my future bmw buying is looking pretty bleak, because I'm not buying any of the current products.
Absolutely agree to this. I have the same wishlist. I would also like to see a M powered x3. And keep the 6 speeds alive.

And with the similar naming conventions, it's hard to keep up.

I remember trying to explain the M6GC name to a friend at my last job - when you try and talk through it out loud, it's even funnier...."But you said even numbers were coupes? This thing has 4 doors!"

At first glance the top pics makes it look like some sort of beefed up Corolla or Nissan Sentra

Its effectively an S3 competitor... we'll see if bmw's ukl architecture is nearly as good as VW's MQB

FWD 2 series? I'd rather get a Mazda3 at that point.

RS3 is 400hp and awd... bmw doesnt make anything that quick at the M2 level... albeit they may make a more powerful version.

Just trying to keep it real. FWIW, if you look back in this thread, SCOTT and ynguldyn are in agreement with me.

The silver lining is that the small RWD coupe and convertible will live on for another generation. If they put the S58 in the next generation M2, that's going to be a tough car not to love (especially if, as currently expected, they keep the MT around for all you clutch pedal fans).
