Coding an F40

Hi I need some help coding my F40. I searched around don't seem to find enough information on it so I 'm thinking to follow the G20 walkthroughs I found since both seem to have the same arcitecture. Any ideas?

Hi. I just want to know if there is someone that has coded an F40 and what has been done. Or if there are any cheatsheets that I can use to code mine. I tried to use one I found for an F30 but there are many different things.

The solution is the Bimmercode app.Buy a compatible adapter to OBD port ( you will find the right adapter to your car in the app) after download the app and then you can find some codes that you can do.

I'll find out Wed if it'll work, but it'll just be a valve delete.

Just had a look at this app mate, can't see anything about valve deletion.

I have ordered an obd adapter to use on my car with bimmercode but it's stuck in Germany

I have used it before on my f30 to code stuff like start-stop off, brake lights flash at slow speeds etc but I don't think it can control the exhaust valve controller. You can code 'sound design' on and off but that's about it.

I think for what you're after.. coding 'pops and bangs' you might need a different coding tool.

On a separate note. I have disconnected my exhaust valves. It's a simple mode. Takes about 5 minutes to do.

How did you go about disconnecting the valves mate?

You need to have the car running, put it in sport mode, check or listen to hear the exhaust value open,
Under the left side of the exhaust outlet there is a connector that controls the valve. You need to disconnect it and that will keep the valve open always.

There are a few YouTube clips that step you through this.

Guessing this just affected 'Comfort' mode and didn't affect Sport, or is it still not the same as a 2019 model when in Sport?

When you're in comfort it sounds like your in sport without the harsh MPG, not 100% on Sport mode yet as I haven't driven it yet mate. I'll get out tomorrow morning and give it some.
No pops/bangs, but ill not know till I take it out.

You could do a similar mod on the F20 series but never felt the need with that car.

This gives me something to do tomorrow AM now! My neighbours are loving the lack of noise on cold starts!

If your car has electrical driver seats and memory the function gives you more space to get in-out of the car easier via adjusting the driver seat position back and low, after sitting the driver seat when you push the engine start button it adjusts the seat to your memory position automaticly.
