Perforated leather
My 2019 M5 just got dropped off at the dealership. It basically just got off the truck, but I went and looked at it when I was there today getting my other car looked at.
I ordered Azurite Black with Tartufo. Now, forgive me if this is a dumb question, but the leather on the seats is perforated and this was a total shock to me. On the website it shows normal leather and all the pictures I have seen so far have not had perforated leather. Is this a 2019 thing? Thanks! |

The leather has always been perforated. No change since its introduction. See link below...2018 M5 with perforated leather.

Why did BMW even bother with perforation, you can barely, I mean barely feel any "ventilation" from the ventilated seats. Makes quite a racket though.

There really aren't a lot of Tartufo pics or videos. I'm waiting on MBB/Tartufo M5 comp order, so definitely feel free to post pics

I've heard some members here have coded their M5 to make the seat ventilation more effective/stronger.

There's a fan under the seat that blows air up through the tiny perforations (poorly.) If the seats are very hot and you can blast of cold air toward the floorboard it will help cool the leather. Otherwise, completely useless and a long standing personal gripe. By comparison, ventilated seats on a Suburban actually pull air from the AC system and work phenomenally well.

Finally got it! I was hesitant to get the Tartufo, but I am soooo happy I did. It really looks fantastic! I have attached a few pics. I got the dark aluminum carbon with dark chrome trim.
