M3 1M steering wheel replacement
Has anyone else done this? Just got mine today, I'll install it tomorrow. The leather feels really nice and the stitching is killer. It doesn't seem as plush as my Sport wheel, that could be because it doesn't have as many miles on it.
Looks simple enough. M3Post is a good source for new and used, a bunch of guys are replacing their OEM for the V2 Performance Electronic wheel. Last edited by Adam135; 11-29-2012 at 11:39 PM.. |

I put an M3 wheel on my 135i and I LOVE IT!!!
Yea... the leather is a little bit "hard", some leather-nique really softened the leather nicely. I ended up having my local BMW Zentrum install the wheel for me, since they only wanted 30 euros to install it! That was a no brainer decision.

Great vid. Makes understanding how to take out the airbag so much easier.

For anyone interested, I used Woolite and Einszett Cockpit Premium to clean the wheel. Add some woolite to warm water - use a soft toothbrush on the stitching and microfiber towels on the leather. Top it off with Einszett which gives it a matte, non-glossy, finish. Looks brand new.

Adam, did you replace it yourself?
I also notice that you and Dack reused your MSport cover instead of opting for the M3 cover. Would the M3 cover fit? (just wondering if it is even an option for us.

The M cover will fit but it's like $150 so I didn't bother. |
