Rim/Alloy Protectors

Hi,

Just wondering if anyone has any pics of rim/alloy protectors on the 3 series diamond cut alloys?

Many Thanks

I considered AlloyGators but decided that they look crap.

That's not what you've asked for, but IMO they are far too conspicuous.

I fitted AlloyGators to my winter wheels/tyres as I wanted to protect them for future resale. Eventually they started to come away from the wheel. The response from AlloyGators was to remove them as they weren't suitable for my tyres! They don't tell you that before you buy them. I left negative feedback on their Facebook page but it was just deleted and they blocked me.

Don't. Just be super careful when parking and be super aware. It comes with practice, learning by close shaves etc but eventually you become like a non alloy scraping Jedi !

Have read reports of water sitting behind them and corroding the wheel badly, don't do it.

Heard this too, bad enough that they corrode in all sorts of other places.

It makes lovely looking wheels worth £1000's look absolute shite. If they get marked...repair them, it is a car after all not an ornament!

I had this too. came off on the A1 near Catterick and started to whip round the front wheel arch. Thought my tyre had blown.

I've ripped them off. Waste of money.

Emergency vehicles don't expect you to mount a kerb and they don't expect you to go through a red light either to make way. However, you don't want to be dick and if you can move, then obviously do it. I think there is a short video called 'blue light aware' you can watch on the internet. I only know this because I was on driver awareness course not so long ago for running a red light (Amber gambler) and a bus driver was on the same course for technically crossing the white line and going through a red light to move for an ambulance

Or not, maybe.

I've a terrible experience getting mine 'repaired' IMO if Diamond Cut get scraped then they're as good as f00ked.

I have them fitted to mine...they have been put to the test a couple of times but I do agree with others, they can look pretty cr@p - especially when the wheels get dirty and they stand out more.

I'll probably take them off when the tyres are due for changing. I had them in black on my last car, which were more subtle and blended into the tyre better - but then they make the wheels look smaller.
