Is flat face rims making a comeback?

Notice BMW gave up on the concave style design on the F95/96 and went with a flat face design. And I’ve notice a growing trend of interest and purchasing of flat face design wheels. Me personally I love deep dish and concave design wheels. It makes an aggressive looking car even more bad ass. Don’t think that’s a trend I’ll follow. What you guy think? Concave , Deep Dish, Flat , Convex

Convex...hmm...I remember a few decades ago when the Momo Quasars were extremely popular. Had wanted them for my Scirocco II but ended up getting Racing Dynamics which were concaved.

When black wheels took over the chrome scene. I said it would never last. Boy was I wrong. I mean, black wheels have been around forever, but chrome held the crown. Now black wheels been the go to for about 6 years running. Let’s see if same can be said for flat wheels. When the luxury brands lead, the rest follow.

I think you meant 16 years. I had black wheels on a 2004 MDX and 2004 545 back then.

I think that's where we initially "met", E60.net (now 5Series.net).

It's OK. But when I referred to a black wheel trend, I wasn't necessarily saying black rims just came about. What I meant was, as per my observation, mid level and luxury car manufacturers didn't start selling their cars with stock black rims not long ago. . Every style is gonna always be around n the aftermarket, but when the automakers do it, then it become commonplace therefore trendy. My thoughts.
