Almost hit a deer 10 minutes ago..

I was going about 45mph on a local road when a deer stopped in front of my car then passed to the left of the road.

I made a sudden stop and no damage has been done to my car...Still in shock...

That's a horrible feeling. So glad you didn't hit it!

On a side note, your avatar is uber-scary! Like if Frank Zappa was the host of a children's show....

Yesterday I was turning out of my neighborhood and was behind a truck. A few seconds later a deer just runs across the street and jumps on top of the guys car and tumbles over. It got straight back up and ran off into the woods. I felt sorry for that guy, but I'm glad it wasn't me.

Yeah I agree. It played a big difference. I don't know how my old car would have handled the sudden brake...

Deer in general are dumb like no other. I saw a deer run into a fence once.

Glad it didn't run into your car.

Im glad you're OK OZ. I'm also glad your car is OK. I suppose the deer was none the wiser.

Did you have to swerve around the deer? The brakes must have been fantastic, hey? Thankfully the electronically controlled systems that BMW implement in the car really did as they claim they do.

Lets never believe another person who critisizes such important safety features.

All the best Oz.

I wonder if that was the same one on the Bambi Forum who said she almost got hit by a white BMW today. lol!

But yeah it is kinda scary - the old adrenaline rush when your realize a potential accident. Bimmers help us be better defensive drivers.

Thanks David, I really appreciate it!

I didn't need to swere around the door. I made a sudden stop when I was going 45mph and it proved that electronics and emergency systems were working well

I'm glad again to get a BMW

I've heard that deer are attracted to BMWs. As the myth goes, something about the engine noise mesmerizes them....

I doubt its true though

heh youre really lucky. I was driving down a road towards my house when all of a sudden a deer jumped out. I slammed the brakes but still managed to smack that motha sending it flying 10 feet foward and killing it. I prayed nothing happened to the car but when i got out the hood and right side of the kidney grill was dented in.

Now i need to have body work done. FCKING SUcKS!!!

I think that's a picture of Borat, one of the personalities portrayed by Sacha Baron Cohen in Da ALi G show.

Once a deer ran up on me while I was stopped at a light. He started washing my windshield, even though I was waving him off. Then he had the nerve to demand 5 bucks (get it... bucks... I crack myself up). If the light hadn't turned green, I think he was going to get really violent about it.

Those damned deer are dangerous.
