Wrote to BMW Canada about prices.. Got Answer

The answer is in french, but will translate loosely.

Cher M. xxx,

BMW Canada

Their prices are specific to each markets, they are currently re-analysing the situation. They say american market is so different.... than ours that it's hard for them to adjust prices on dollar fluctuations.
Here is the best part: they are aware of the problem and are planning to put more standard equipment to compensate and give us a better value.

Don't know if this is going to be for 2008.

I brought this up with my dealer and BMWCA last week but got the generic "we're looking into it. I've already ordered my 2008, going to be a real piss off if they put more standard options on. Look out dealer, here I call!

If adding more standard equipment is their way of equalizing things, it seems logical BMW would do it on a case-by-case basis.
That is, if you paid for comfort access, they wouldn't give it to others for free unless they were giving you something else in return to make it somewhat fair.
Would it be for 08? Well, this could be one reason why it took so long in announcing pricing.

In my original letter I said I was considering cancelling my order (delivery late October), I replied and asked if this was going to apply to my order.
Waiting for an answer...

For those of you who put down a deposit to order a new BMW, check out the contract wording on the back. On mine, it allows me to back out if they can't deliver a car to me in 90 days, which in my case is the end of September. I plan to call BMW Canada (anyone with any ideas on who to call?) -- as much as I like the idea of a new 335i, I am ready to look elsewhere.

I like how they suggest we get more std equipment when in fact on the coupe we get less, my order is being cancelled today. The CDN$ is only going up, in a month or two my "lesser equiped" US spec car is going to look like even more of a deal. Since it will have premium package and CA at no extra charge.

But you won't have a warranty on our "USA" car.

says who....the warranty is still valid you lose the MP which funny thing in Canada is gutted compared to the US ...once again it's the little things. In BMW speak we get a maintenance program specfic to Canada conditions....yeah we don't need to replace our brakes, the snow in the ditch will stop you before you do any real damage. .

The free maintenance in Canada is a joke anyway. All it amounts to is a free oil change every year for the duration of the warranty.

+ coolant change, brake fluid flush, air fliter, cabin air filter, and it makes me feel special. But yeah, it is overrated.

Got the reply today:

Cher M. xxx,

BMW Canada

Basically they will not do any change to the 335 because it is a new model.

So I most likely cancel my order.
If someone in Montreal is interested I could transfer the deal:
335 Coupe, Space Gray, Sport 18, CA, Logic7+USB.
Retail + 3.5% discount.

I know.....but with the price differential I can get a car with PP and Ca for many thousands less so my spin is I'll get them as if they are for free.

Where can I find that contract? I ordered mine first week of June and want to cancel and order it from the US too. What's another month wait when I can save over $10K.

Please respond ASAP or just PM me. Thanks man!
