My new E90 with SP

I have been driving my new E90 with SP for two weeks now. Before that I testdrived a E90 without SP (for a long time). I must say that I am 100% happy that I got the SP. It looks better, it's better to drive, the colour is Le Mans blue (only with SP) and everyone just loves the car...
Theres little difference between normal suspension and the one with SP. Believe me.. I live in the northern part of Norway and the roads are not good. BMW with SP is still at nice car to drive... the seats are great, the tires nice and the driving comfort superb... even my father dont think the suspension is to sporty...
The main difference is the look... its better with SP!!! :rocks:

I have a brain. I know, because my dog and I were playing tug-of-war with it earlier today. I did not get SP. The 17" wheels and tires are not practical for me. I like the steering wheel and seats... wish you could get those without the wheels.

Ain't that the truth-and then they have to worry how may minutes it will take before the bumper is scratched parking/turning, stopping on those lovely coblestone streets, which are narrower than most NA shopping mall drives.

Just kidding - always remember I am originally from the other side of the pond- so I can make jokes....

Opted to go w/o the sports package. I dont regret it 1 bit. I didn't want to have 18" rims in NYC roads. 17" inchers are perfectly fine. I don't want to swap out summer/winter tires. Like I have that kinda time or desire. The standard suspension is stiffer than the sports suspension in the previous model. I used to own an e46. I don't need anything stiffer. The sports seats are very uncomfortable and feel stiffer, which I do not like. The steering wheel would have been nice...but, not for a few grand. The stance? No one can notice a 0.6 inch drop. If I wanted a better stance, I'll go aftermarket and get a full inch+

So as you can see. the SP/Non-SP debate is all about personal preference. For me, I'd rather enjoy a smoother ride while still getting nice handling. I spend 95% of my time in city streets. Sure, I'll wish i got the SP for the 5% of the time I'm doing the twisties up in the mountains, but 95% of the time, I'm thankful I didn't.

Obviously(or not), the no-brainer statement was a general one for most people. There are some who prefer not to get it. Experience the package for yourself and tell us if it was a no-brainer for you.

That was my second car after my 86 325 was rear-ended. It had 12k on the clock - just detailed - going to pick up my high school sweetheart (and now my wife of 89 years). 86 was replaced with a Black/Cardinal Red 87 325is w/ 5-speed stick that will always remain my favorite car.

I had a '87 325is Apline White/Cardinal Red with 5 speed. Great car! Wish I had never sold it.

Was that Cardinal interior cool or what? I just loved it and not to knock the E90 Terra lovers but it trumped Terra in a heartbeat. When my wife and I were considering interior choices I suggested Terra and she asked why don't they reintroduce Cardinal Red. It was so distinctive and such a classy tone of red...not too garish - just right. Can we sing memories together??? I like you would have that car back in a heartbeat and I've been lurking EBAY forever for a suitable replacement. Looks like most are beyond being used up. I'm still young enough - it will be interesting to see if the E90's are all used up 18 years from now. The E90 however is the first BMW that even slightly sparked memories of the E30. I think that BMW got this one right. It feels like a 3-series should feel again - FINALLY!
