Also looked at this Racechip video.

Weird how they only get modest BHP gains when I have been in touch with DMS and they are claiming 375BHP and the dyno runs show over 400BHP. Offering a bit of a deal to buy now and have the work done after all this is over.....no warranty though unlike Rachchip who have at least some kind of limited warranty on the engine. Guess this might explain why they are a bit more conservative!

DMS do indeed have the pops and bangs option too!

That sounds about right. I was under the impression that a good tune with the current turbo would get closer to the 400 mark. The turbo can run a maximum of 2.7bar/38psi and currently my RC it is running anywhere near that.

While developing the tune they mentioned that they got higher hp figures but they had to pull back because of reliability issues. It would be good to see the details around the tune.I would have thought that supporting parts may be needed to run the car safely at 400ish hp

Id love 400hp 🥰

Please, please tuning companies...release a full data set including boost and, especially, AFR charts. How else can customers determine whether the tune will be safe and reliable?

Installation was easy took me about 30mins and I got to test it last weekend. I am getting better fuel economy + power even on sport mode 👍 my current setup: RC - Eco, Car - Comfort/Sport.

How does the car feel with and without the racechip tune?

So I got the racechip with the phone app which means I can change tuning modes on the fly. I tested acceleration feel with the car in sport mode while the racechip settings were in eco mode and then off/stock. The acceleration runs were done in 3rd and the car pulled stronger with the racechip turned on.

I am yet to try RC in sport or race but looking forward to testing that sometime soon. The car is pretty fast in stock as you would probably know and the roads here are small so a little extra power is more than enough!

Currently the car feels smoother to drive with the RC on, acceleration and pickup are really smooth in both comfort and sport mode.
Hi Knali8,

Any updates on the racechip plug and play setup? About 30bhp gains according to their website - worth the cost!?

How does it drive with more miles under your belt?

Cheers buddy

Love it. In shot it's better fuel efficiency and more power.

The car is basically in efficient mode as I don't really need the extra power at the moment. I have tried sport and the car pulled really good. I haven't tried race yet.. but I'm sure it will be great.

Racechip gts would be the only tuning box I would buy. Comes with a good warranty and had been thoroughly tested, according to their own video. As they said, they pulled back because of potential reliability issues and getting close to certain limits - What about DMS testing? Has it been thoroughly tested and if so where are the results? There aren't any.

I called DMS, he said they were getting 420bhp.

I said "with the greatest of respect how do you know that kind of power is safe?" He says you just need to look at Merc... A45 is hitting the same figures. 🤷🏼*♂️

It is actually scary for a tuning company to say that!

Lol not joking lads...400+bhp. Don't get me wrong the guy sounded cool and we were talking about getting the pops/bangs in etc but 400+, just can't see it without swapping out major parts.

Ageed with you..I would at the very least be installing a downpipe to reduce the heat in the engine and turbo.

I'm planning to get a highflow downpipe 200 cell.. that should add another 20 or so hp.
