Modifications Complete

Well, I posted a thread here (http://www.e90post.com/forums/showth...highlight=mods) with possible modifications that I wanted to do!

Well, I went ahead with the blacklines, spoiler and black out grill and it looks awesome!!! :-)

I used Jasons DIY on the blackout grill (Thanks Jason!)

Interestingly, the body shop suggested that instead of glueing the spoiler down, we line the edges with a very thin double sided tape (called stikkatape) which is specially designed for attaching things to cars (such as trim, beading etc). I expressed my concerns about the edges popping up etc, and he believes the stikkatape (which was applied right into the corners) will hold it down. If I am unhappy, he said I can come back to get it glued down! It looks excellent!

I just snapped some random shots in some random places:

Looks good. I noticed that your tires aren't bridgestone? Are they Runflats?

Yup, they are continental SportContact 2. BMW approved runflats that came with the car...

Very Very Nice

Looks like we will be able to do a photoshoot on Friday at the factory, so everyone can compare a M Sport to a "normal" E90 in the same color

Continentals are put on many non-USA cars with 16" or 17" wheels ( not if you have 255 rear tires )

They even make a large percentage of the tires here in South Africa

We have no need for all-Season tires like the USA gets, so the Continentals are all Summer tires

Nice mods... I like the rear, looks very mysterious, but I think the front is better with chrome for more depth and definition.

What does the spoiler get attached with normally? Is it a paste like glue that holds it rather than a tape?

Nope, I haven't ... I will try on Wednesday... I completely forgot until it was too late to give the dealership a call on Monday.. it was because of one of those crisis situations at work that had to happen at the time when I wanted to do something good for my car .

I hope I won't regret not buying it on Monday.

Do you even have your own car? Or are you getting comfy in the new loaner? What's happening with that?

Nope... I still don't have my car... I'm still using the E46 320d.

Well, I have decided not to update my thread because it's getting ridiculous. I will summarise the drama if/when I finally get my car.
Short version... sorry I know this is and belongs to another thread:
The BMW Technical guy that was called into the dealer to assist since 9 March, ordered a new Control Unit from Germany.... I guess he's not doing anything now... just waiting for the Control Unit .

On Thursday Head Office called me and said the new part had arrived (on the same day, Thursday).... so, i thought there was a chance to get my car on Friday.... how wrong I was.

Friday went by, and there were no news. On Monday, BMW SA called me and told me that the part is still with them... apparently people are still sorting out invoices.

I was promised that some pressure will be put so that the part could be delivered to the dealer asap.

I told the lady that I will come and collect the part and deliver it to the dealership for them if they have problems delivering it.... she thought I was pulling a joke, and I quickly made it known that I wasn't in any joking mood:mad:.... she then realised that I was serious and said she would relay the message that "the client has even offered to deliver the part himself".... hopefully something will happen.

I don't know... but I have lost every little faith and respect I ever had about BMW in general... I thought this matter would be resolved sooner, after reporting it to BMW SA.

I will see what new lies come back to me on Wednesday.
