Xpel Ultimate w/ cQuartz

After seeing some great results on other cars, this Monday I dropped off my SB M4 to get the entire nose and rocker panels wrapped w/ custom Xpel Ultimate then have the car/wheels coated with cQuartz.

Can't wait to get it back tomorrow night and see how it brings out the depth of that black metallic paint!

Huge thanks to Rick and the guys out at Unique car care outside Boston. The car came even better than I hoped, the gloss is incredible.

Now I am really curious to see how easy it is to keep clean with a touchless wash.

Xpel is a PPF (Paint Protection Film), or clear bra. Like saran wrap, for parts of your car. The purpose is to protect it against rock chips and debris. Most people cover the most vulnerable areas: front bumper, hood, front fenders, mirrors. Others add rocker panels, A-pillar, part of the roof, etc. It works pretty well, and if installed well, you can hardly tell it's there.

C-Quartz is a coating, like a car wax. There are basically 3 categories of "Last Step" after a proper washing (paint prep). Wax, sealant, or coating. In that order, it goes from (in general) best looking to worst looking, and least protection to most protection (and longevity). A coating like CQ should last about 2 years with proper maintenance. It won't look as good as a wax can, but will still look pretty damn good. The CQ is applied to the bare paint, as well as the clear bra. It protects the car against dirt, hard water, bird poop, light swirls, etc., and makes it much easier to clean.
